Carol Leigh Caldwell, of Spartanburg, SC, went home to be with her Lord and Savior peacefully on Saturday morning on September 19, 2026, surrounded by her family. Born May 28, 1952, she was the daughter of the late Carroll and Betty Shook.

She is survived by her husband, Frank Caldwell, to whom she was married for 52 years, and her three children, Aaron Caldwell (Elishia), Stephen Caldwell (Jade), and John Boyd (Kelsey). She had four grandsons and one granddaughter: Brant and Caleb (whom she referred to as “the perfect storm”), Landon, Jase, and Karsyn. She was predeceased by two sons, Todd and David, and her brother, Jerry Shook. She is also survived by her sister, Nell Alverson (Mark), and brother, Andy Shook (Hayden), and their children, Andrew and Julia.

She was retired from the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, where she faithfully served as the Victim’s Advocate. She attended Bethesda Baptist Church and Congregation Beth Shiloh Messianic Synagogue. Leigh took great pride in serving others and providing support in their time of need. She was a shining example to all of those around her to love the Lord and to love others as He loved us (Matthew 22:37–40).

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, September 28, 2026, at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307.
