Carl Stephen “Steve” Michaels, 66, of Spartanburg, passed away on Saturday evening, April 25, 2026, at his residence. Steve was born July 21, 1959, in Winston-Salem, NC, a son of Betty Jo Combs Michaels and Raymond Elder Michaels.

Steve was a US Air Force veteran and was a machinist working much of his work career with Auriga Polymers, Inc. He formerly attended Boiling Springs First Baptist Church.

Steve was a man of many interests. Body building, riding motorcycles and jet skis brought him much joy. He was also a fan of country music, favoring the sounds of Greg Alman and Charlie Daniels.

He is survived by his loving wife, Teresa Leverett Solesbee of the home; his parents, Ray and Betty Jo Michaels of Cumming, GA; a daughter, Lorelei Lynn Rickards (Ryan) of Buford, GA and his three grandchildren, Preston, Cadence, and Skylar, as well as her mother, Pamela Michaels-Mangum (Paul); a step-daughter, Hana Hakim (Charner Adams) of Jersey City, NJ; a sister, Robin Ann Michaels, of Sedona, AZ; two nephews, Michael McCartha (Oana) and Ayran Michaels (Sydney); and his beloved canine companion and best friend, Bodie Michaels.
