Brenda Matthews

Brenda Joyce Fletcher Matthews, 74, of Taylors, SC, died Monday, February 27, 2023 at Upstate Community Hospice House in Landrum, SC. Born February 9, 1949 in Abbeville, SC, she was the daughter of the late Otis Calvin and Mary Evelyn Gambrell Fletcher and the wife of the late Mack Boyd Matthews.

Brenda was retired from Elmore Products as a supervisor. She was of the Church of God faith. Brenda was a talented seamstress, a wonderful cook, loved animals, enjoyed raising chickens, and loved her Lord and family.

Survivors include her daughter, Tammy Matthews Kelly, of the home; granddaughter, Kayla Kelly Saylors (Tyler) of Taylors, SC; grandson, Joshua Kelly of the home; her sister-in-law, Nan Fletcher of Enoree, SC; and Brenda’s canine companion, Rutger. She was also predeceased by her siblings, Linda Rakestraw and Calvin Fletcher.
