Jean Hill

Brenda Jean Hill, 60, passed away on August 15, 2025. Born in Greenville, she was the daughter of Brenda and Bernie O'Brien and the wife of Martin Hill for over thirty-one years. 

Jean was a loving lead caregiver with Home Helpers of Greer. She had her own restaurant, Hills Kitchen, where all the local fireman couldn't wait to eat her special "Hill Burger" and man did they eat!! That made her so proud! They would come to the restaurant and all the children were able to be a fireman, playing on their trucks. She was a longtime employee of Duncan Cafeteria where everyone loved to see her smiling face as she served them the delicious foods she had prepared with love. Jean was the star attraction with her sweet self. She was also a manager for Fatz Cafe (multiple locations) where her smile brightened many lives. She would sit down with them and have personal and meaningful conversations and everyone loved her so much. Jean was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church with a firm faith in Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior.

Survivors also include four sons, David Hill (Joni), Joseph Hill (Hiram Wilson), Jeffery Lowe (Chelsea) and Bradley Lowe (Myra); a daughter, Leigh Ann Hill; five grandchildren, Kayley Hill, J.J. Crotts, Cayden Lowe, Everlee Lowe and Harper Lowe; her sister, Angie Laster, along with her daughters: Victoria, Andrea and Tamara Laster. Jean had a large extended family...too much to list, but everyone loved her so.

Funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, August 17, 2025 at Poplar Springs Baptist Church with Pastor Ken Forrester officiating. The family will receive friends at 2:00 pm prior to the service. Interment will be held in Poplar Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
