Boyd L. Walton

Boyd L. Walton, age 73, of Spartanburg, SC., passed away early Sunday morning, November 5, 2023, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home.  He was a son of the late Alexander Walton and Melba Lee Walton of Spartanburg.

Mr. Walton was a devoted and loving son, husband, father and grandfather.  He married Gloria Blackwell Walton, of the home, and together they raised three sons, Beau Walton, Jason Walton and Chad Walton and he is also survived by his granddaughter, Willow Walton, two sisters, Sue (Bobby) Wood and Kay (Robert) Walden and numerous nieces and nephews.  He is predeceased by two brothers, Stanley Walton and Dave Walton.

Mr. Walton served on many mission trips going to Cuba and Nicaragua.  He worked in the maintenance department at Auto Lite in Duncan for more than 22 years before his retirement.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 12:45 pm, Friday, November 10, 2023, at First Baptist Church North Spartanburg, The Rock Worship Center, 8740 Asheville Hwy, Spartanburg, SC 29316.  His funeral service will begin at 1:00 pm with Dr. Michael Hamlett officiating.  Burial will follow immediately following the service at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd, Spartanburg, SC 29307.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Boyd’s memory to First Baptist Church North Spartanburg, 8740 Asheville Hwy, Spartanburg, SC 29316 for Missions.
