Billie Faye Ramsey Schrimsher (87) went to be with the Lord as she passed peacefully surrounded by her loving family on June 22, 2026, at Agape Hospice House in Landrum, SC. She was born on September 25, 1938 to the late Earl Evins Ramsey and Beatrice Green Ramsey.
She is survived by her daughter Cindi Harvey (Alan) of Pauline, SC; son-in-law Carl Cartee of Inman, SC, 5 grandchildren; Joey Cartee (Tabatha) of Inman, SC; Justin Cartee of Inman, SC; Caitlin Lovett (Michael) of Inman, SC; Jesse Harvey (Amber) of Pauline, SC and Ashlee Gibbs (Rhett) of Pauline, SC; 9 great grandchildren; Hayden, Brayden, Madisyn, Charlotte, Elijah, Callie, Sadie, Lincoln, and Unique. She also was blessed with many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bennie Schrimsher, her beloved daughter Jo-Retta Cartee, and her siblings Shirley Schrimsher and Grace Ramsey.
Billie was born in Spartanburg, SC. She worked many years for Mettler Toledo and ended her career as an electrical solderer with Electrical Specialty Inc. In her early years, she enjoyed traveling to see various genres of music with her family and friends. She also loved visiting Myrtle Beach with her husband, Bennie, each year and looked forward to their weekly thrifting adventures. She was also a proud and dedicated member of First Baptist Church of Valley Falls, where she served as the church clerk for many years.
She will be missed dearly by her family who affectionately called her ‘Nanaw’, but joy is found in knowing that she is at home with her Lord and reunited with her loving husband Bennie, beloved daughter Jo-Retta, and numerous family and friends who have gone before her.
A visitation will be at 12:00 PM on Thursday, June 25, 2026 at First Baptist Church of Valley Falls, 8352 Valley Falls Road, Boiling Springs, SC. Funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM, to be conducted by the Rev. Tommy Turner with music provided by Rev. Norman Band. Burial service will follow at Fort Prince Memorial Gardens.
Active pallbearers will be: Brayden Cartee, Carl Cartee, Hayden Cartee, Jesse Harvey, Joey Cartee, and Rhett Gibbs. Honorary pallbearers will be: Elijah Cartee, Justin Cartee, Lincoln Cartee, and Unique Mann.
Our family would like to extend a special thank you to Jackie Tinsley and her “girls”, as well as, the nurses and staff of Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home and Agape Hospice House in Landrum, SC for the loving care they provided.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to First Baptist Church of Valley Falls, 8352 Valley Falls Road, Boiling Springs, SC 29316.
