Bill R. Ballinger, of Spartanburg, passed away on Saturday morning, July 5, 2025, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Bill was born October 17, 1945, in Goodlettsville, TN, a son of the late Avo Raines and Buford Hale Ballinger.

Bill was a veteran of the US Army and was a self-employed wholesale jeweler.

Bill and Vicki L. Blackwell were blessed with a 25-year devoted and loving union. He is also survived by his daughter, Olivia Owen Ballinger (Bryan Shealy) of Chapin, SC; his two grandchildren, Aida Rae Shealy and Everett Ballinger Shealy; his sister-in-law, Karen Potter of Roebuck, SC; and nieces and nephews, Ronnie Ballinger, Tim Ballinger, Sandy Ballinger, Tara Ballinger Darby, John Robertson, Michael Robertson and Will Blackwell.

Along with his parents, Bill was predeceased by three brothers, James Ballinger, Bobby Ballinger, and Odell Ballinger.

A graveside service to honor Bill’s life will be held 12:00 pm Friday, July 11, 2025, at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307, conducted by the Rev. Chris Allen. The family will greet friends following the service.

The family will be at the home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home, PO Box 2624, Spartanburg, SC 29304 or to the Spartanburg Humane Society, 150 Dexter Road, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
