Betty Swenson

Betty Ann Swenson, 83, of Spartanburg, SC, died Monday, August 29, 2022 at Spartanburg Medical Center. Born August 24, 1939 in Sprague (Baltic), CT, she was the daughter of the late Edward Joseph and Ruth Margaret Philips Barnes, and the wife of the late Bernard N. Swenson, Jr.

Betty was retired from BASF after 30 plus years of service. She volunteered with Mobile Meals. She enjoyed spending time with her friends and having lunch dates with them. She was of the Christian Faith.

She was the “Best Granny” in the world. She adored her granddaughters and they adore her. They will miss her daily texts and weekly phone calls.

Survivors include her daughters, Lori S. Hill (Dennis M.) of Boiling Springs, SC and Stacey S. Vinesett of Spartanburg, SC; her granddaughters, Lauren N. Hill of Grovetown, GA, Molly A. Vinesett of Washington, DC and Emma D. Vinesett of Greenville, SC; her brother, Bruce Barnes of Spartanburg, SC; along with eight nephews and five nieces. She was predeceased by her son-in-law, Wayne Vinesett.

Private entombment will be held at a later date.
