Betty Ezell Donald Poole, 97, of Spartanburg, SC, died Sunday, November 13, 2022 at White Oak Manor. Born January 26, 1925, in Spartanburg, SC, she was the daughter of the late Columbus Ezell and Minnie O’Dell Cook Donald and was the wife of the late Herman Marion Poole for 72 years.
Betty worked for Clifton Mill for 25 years, was retired from Hersey Products after over 42 years of service. She was also a Certified Nurse Assistant.
She was a member of Thompson Chapel Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and Training Union for over 45 years. She helped with Bible School, Christmas Programs, and was an active member of the WMU (Women’s Missionary Union.) She loved the Lord and her family. She enjoyed reading, especially the Bible, and cooking.
Survivors include her daughter, Joyce Poole Godfrey (Sam) of Moore, SC; her daughter-in-law, Renee Poole of Spartanburg, SC; her grandchildren: Mandy (Tan) Ehlich of Chesnee, SC; Amy (David) Jones of Woodruff, SC; Allison Cantrell (Stephen) and Matt Poole (Haley), both of Chesnee, SC; seven great grandchildren, her brother, John Donald (Jean) of Camp Croft; and sister-in-law, Gaynell Donald.
Along with her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her son, Keith Poole; a grandson, Brent Caldwell; siblings, Walter Donald, Doris Robbins, Carey Donald, and Mary Donald.
A Graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, November 17, 2022 at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307, by The Rev. Fred Quidley and The Rev. Dennis Spencer. Visitation will follow at the graveside.
