Betty Howell

Betty Jo Cook Howell, 82, of Pacolet, SC, died Sunday, May 15, 2016, at RoseCrest Healthcare Center-Inman. Born August 8, 1933, in Pacolet Mills, SC, she was the daughter of the late Dewey and Minnie Bryant Cook. A loving wife, sister, and aunt to all her nieces and nephews, Mrs. Howell was a homemaker, former teacher assistant in Warner Robbins, GA, and funeral matron at Floyd's Pacolet Chapel for a number of years. She was a member of Pacolet Mills Baptist Church where she was a former choir member, Sunday School teacher, and also served as coordinator for the seniors. Surviving are her loving husband of 66 years, Billy Eugene Howell; her niece and special caregivers, Christy Guyton and her husband Bobby, niece-in-law, Sherry Howell, and friend, Sandy Servin, all of Pacolet, SC; sisters, Margaret Byrd of Spartanburg, SC, Loree Hodges of Pacolet, SC, and Geraldine Ellison (Heber) of Hartsville, SC; and a large number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by three brothers and one sister. Visitation will be 2:45-3:45 PM Thursday, May 19, 2016, at Pacolet Mills Baptist Church, 385 Stone St., Pacolet, SC 29372. Funeral services will follow at 4:00 PM, at the church, conducted by the Rev. Norman L. Band. Burial will be in Pacolet Memorial Gardens, 141 Memorial Dr., Pacolet, SC 29372. Mrs. Howell will be available for viewing after 4:00 PM Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at Floyd's Pacolet Chapel, 141 Memorial Dr., Pacolet, SC 29372.
