Betty Deal

Betty Hendrix Deal, 82, of Spartanburg, died Saturday, May 25, 2024, at her home. A native of Greenwood, she was born on January 17, 1942, a daughter of the late William Loman and Ella Mae Wyatt Hendrix and wife of the late Gerald (Gerry) Lee Deal. 

She was a graduate of Lander University and retired as a payroll manager with Cryovac Sealed Air Corporation, a member of Second Presbyterian Church where she was a member of the Fellowship Sunday Class, Presbyterian Women Circle and served as an Elder. 

She is survived by her daughter, Holly D. Crain (Drew) of Maryville, TN.; son, Gerald Scott Deal of Spartanburg; Six grandchildren, Jared, Ashlyn, Laurel, Kelli, Kendall and Alexis; four great grandchildren, brother, Bill Hendrix of Murrells Inlet, SC. She was predeceased by her daughter, Laura Elizabeth Deal; brother, Robert Hendrix; sister, Ginny McEntyre. 

Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 10:45 am, Saturday, June 1, 2024, at Second Presbyterian Church, 438 North Church Street, Spartanburg, SC 29303. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 am in the church sanctuary conducted by the Rev. Ludwig Weaver. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Second Presbyterian Church.
