Bertie Mae Malone, 92, of Cowpens, South Carolina passed away on Thursday, April 9, 2026.

Bertie was born In Cowpens, South Carolina. She is the daughter of the late Charlie Jack Ray and Flossie Christine Waters Ray. She was also preceded I death by her husband: Stewart Malone; a daughter: Sandy Smith; one sister: Doris Rhinehart; and three brothers: Grady Ray, Torrance Ray and Charles Ray.

Bertie was a member of White Plains Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed her time with her family. She also enjoyed watching game shows and church services on television. Jimmy Swaggart was one of her favorites. She was known for having a big heart and would help anyone that she could. She also liked to dine out at different restaurants. She will be missed by everyone that had the pleasure of meeting her.

Left to cherish Bertie’s many memories are her daughter: Debbie Greene (Donnie); four grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and one precious great-great grandchild; a sister: Judy Poole; and a brother: Harold Ray. She also leaves her caregiver to cherish her memories: Sandra Ford.

A Graveside Service to honor her life will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Reverend Gary Ward will officiate the service.

Berties memories will continue to live in the hearts of her family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Bertie's memory to the local Homeless Shelter.

The arrangements are trusted to the care of Floyd’s Greenlawn Chapel.
