Barbara Sue Goings

Barbara Sue Goings, 90, of Glen Burnie, Maryland passed into eternal rest on Tuesday, June 10, 2025.

Barbara was born in Spartanburg, South Carolina, the daughter of the late Houston M. Goings and the late Gertrude Hodge Going. She was also preceded in death by two brothers: Eugene Goings and Jay Goins; one sister: Geraldine Goings Hoffmaster.

Barbara was a graduate of Spartanburg High School. She had a successful career with Bank of America and retired as an administrator. She was a member of the congregation of First Baptist Spartanburg and upon retirement she volunteered delivering meals to the elderly. She was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling especially to Maryland and France to visit her nephew and niece and their families. If you were fortunate to meet her then you loved her and her sweet disposition. She was a loving and caring woman with a kind heart and she will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Left to cherish her wonderful memories are a sister-in-law Joan Goins and her niece and nephew and their families: niece Belinda and husband Thibaut de Gaudemar, adult children Matthieu, Annabelle and Olivia; and nephew David “Randy” and wife Shelly Hoffmaster, children Kyra and Cole. Her memories will be cherished forever in the hearts of her loved ones and friends.

The family will receive friends between 10:00 – 10:45 AM on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at Floyd’s Greenlawn Chapel. 2075 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29307. The funeral service to honor Barbara’s life will be held at 11:00 following the visitation. The burial will follow the service in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
