Barbara Evelyn Ives Cain, 84, of Spartanburg, SC, died Wednesday, April 22, 2020, at her home. Born September 10, 1935, in Birmingham, AL, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Esther Ives. A member of Green Point Baptist Church, Mrs. Cain was devoted to her Lord, her husband and family. She was an outstanding bowler in her younger days, a talented seamstress, and described by family as the "world's smallest bulldozer" and the "energizer bunny." She retired from administration with Spartanburg County School District 3 after 24 years of service in Special Education. Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Richard G. Cain; children, Stephen G. Cain (Kimberley) of Aiken, SC and Patricia C. Miller (Robert) of Gaffney, SC; grandchildren, Michelle Harrison Schell, David Cain, Dayne Miller, and Andrew Miller; great-grandchildren, Blake, Bailey, Avery, and Anna Claire Transiskus, Tommy Washington, Jr.; Kyleigh, Jameison, and Matthew Miller. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a daughter, Karen Cain Harrison; a son, Randy Cain; and brothers, Sidney Ives and Aubrey "Spud" Ives. Visitation will be 11:00 AM-1:00 PM Saturday, April 25, 2020, at the home. A graveside service will follow at 3:00 PM, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307, conducted by The Rev. Dr. David Lancaster. Pallbearers are Bailey Transiskus, Avery Transiskus, Tommy Washington, Jr., Dayne Miller, Andrew Miller, and Robert Miller.
