Barbara Ann Deaton Blanchard

Barbara Ann Deaton Blanchard, age 79, passed away on Friday, June 9, 2023, at Spartanburg Hospital for Restorative Care. She was born May 24, 1944, in Hall County, GA., and was a daughter of the late Oscar Harrison and Essie Mae Cain Deaton.

Barbara was a member of the Canaan Baptist Church, a member of the SCARE organization, and a Director of Registration and Elections for Spartanburg County for 23 years. She enjoyed cross stitching, flowers and cooking.  She was an excellent wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Survivors include her husband, Ronald Blanchard of 55 years; a daughter, Marcia B. Pye, four grandchildren, Justin Phillips, Michael Pye (Kelsey), Trevor Phillips, and Andrew Pye; four great grandchildren, Kailbe Phillips, Ryder Phillips, Clayton Pye, and Sawyer Phillips; her sisters, Vonceil Pridmore and Mildred Keller; and brothers, Robert Deaton and Royce Deaton.

She was predeceased by her son, John Ashley Phillips, a brother, Hoyt Deaton, three sisters, Betty Sue Lanning, Shirley Poteat, and Ruenette Whitaker.

A private Graveside service will be held.
