Arthur "Art" "Yank" Ralph Millard, 72, of Cowpens, SC, died Thursday, August 23, 2018, at Greenville Memorial Hospital. Born January 11, 1946, in Elmira, NY, he was the son of the late James Arthur Millard and Madeline Frances Shergur Millard. Art loved his entire family and enjoyed fishing. He attended Oakdale Baptist Church in Cowpens, was a veteran of the U. S. Navy stationed in Cuba during the Cuban Missile Crisis, and worked extremely hard with B&W Housing Development. Survivors include his wife of 21 years, Kim Green Millard; children, Jim Millard of Boiling Springs, SC, Malachy Millard of Charleston, SC; step-children, Ricky Fortner Jr. of Cowpens, SC and Daniel Arledge of Greenville, SC; grandchildren, Chris Millard of Cowpens, SC, Dylan Millard, Austin Cash, Brandon Millard, and Noah Millard, all of Boiling Springs, SC, Nathaniel Arledge of Sweinfort, Germany, Ricky Fortner III of Cowpens, SC, Riley Hausman and Hadley Arledge, both of Greenville, SC; great-grandson, Malachy Gabriel Millard of Cowpens, SC; and sister, Marial Patricia Millard LaLonde; niece, Colleen LaLonde; nephews, Jerry and Scott LaLonde, all of Elmira, NY. A graveside service, with military rites by American Legion Post #28, will be conducted at 4:00 PM Saturday, August 25, 2018, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307, by The Rev. Dr. Terry Duvall. Visitation will follow the service at the graveside.
