Annie Matthews

Annie Belle Lee Matthews, 96, of Spartanburg, SC, died Thursday, December 14, 2017, at White Oak Estates. Born June 27, 1921, in White Stone, SC, she was the daughter of the late Claude Arthur and Annie Crocker Lee and wife of the late Henry Terrell Matthews. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. A graduate of Cecil's Business College and a member of Green Point Baptist Church, Mrs. Matthews was retired from Raycord Company Inc. She loved sewing, cooking, crocheting and her dogs. Survivors include several nieces and nephews; and sisters-in-law, Emma Lee and Mae Lee. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by sisters, Daisy Rogers and Minnie Davis; and brothers, Arthur, Albert, Aubrey, Walt, Billy, Claude, John and Sammy Lee. A graveside service will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, December 17, 2017, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307, conducted by the Rev. Dr. David Lancaster. Visitation will follow the service at graveside. Memorials may be made to Green Point Baptist Church Building Fund, 1391 Rainbow Lake Rd., Inman, SC 29349.
