Annie C. Scruggs Blackwelder

Annie C. Scruggs Blackwelder, age 90, passed away Monday, May 22, 2023, at Magnolia Manor in Inman.  She was born in Saluda, NC, on April 22, 1933, a daughter of the late Dillard and Carie Masey Scruggs and wife of 54 years to the late Donald G. Blackwelder.

As a lifelong member of Peace Free Will Baptist Church, Annie loved her family.  Spending time with her grandchildren gave her so much joy.

Survivors include her daughter, Donna McNamara (Sean), five grandchildren; Sean McNamara, Jr., Brandon McNamara, Caroline Marshall (Dylan), Andrew McNamara, and Megan Xaikhamharn, (Eric).  In addition to her husband, she is predeceased by her daughter, Deborah Lee Johnson, brothers; Paul Scruggs, Guy Scruggs, sisters; Elma Tucker, Thelma Turner, Myrtle Green, Lillian Taylor, Melissa Kennon and Mary Tucker.

A graveside service will be held at 12:00 PM, Thursday, May 25, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens with Rev. Steve Blankenship officiating.  The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
