Anita Collister

Anita B. Collister, 94, a 50 year resident of Spartanburg, SC, passed on to the Lord on Saturday, August 22, 2009, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born November 1914, in Portsmouth, NH, she was the daughter of the late Sylvester and Seconda Zamarchi Brighi and wife of the late William H. Collister. She was a retired Registered Nurse and a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church. Anita enjoyed her bridge clubs and her dogs. Survivors include three nephews, Peter Apol of Jacksonville, FL, Michael Brighi of Kennebunkport, ME, and Naples, FL, and Steve Brighi of Haverhill, MA. She was predeceased by a sister, Guerina Apol; and a brother, Al Brighi. Visitation will be 12:30-1:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 25, 2009, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Graveside services will follow at 2:00 p.m. in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens conducted by the Rev. Michael McCafferty. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 161 North Dean Street, Spartanburg, SC 29302; or to the charity of one's choice.
