Ancil Ray Arledge, 81, of Spartanburg, SC, died Thursday, November 22, 2018, at Magnolia Manor-Spartanburg. Born January 1, 1937, in Spartanburg County, he was the son of the late Ralph Justice Arledge and Emmy Collins Arledge. Mr. Arledge retired from Arrow Automotive and was a longtime employee at Fingerville Mill and Franklin Process. He was a member of Fairforest Church of God. Survivors include his daughter, Teresa Merrell (Dennis) of Inman, SC; stepchildren, Loretta Ann Hawkins of Duncan, SC, William Harvey Southern Jr. of Lumberton, NC, and Edward E. Southern of Spartanburg, SC; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Arlene Gore of Pacolet, SC and Betty Jean Bryant of Chesnee, SC; brothers, Robert Arledge of Inman, SC and Broughton Arledge of Cooley Springs, SC. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, Shirley Hall Arledge and second wife, Lillian Earle Owens Arledge. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a daughter, Alice Arledge; grandson, Clemente Nicholas Ray Leonard; and sisters, Lessie Arledge, Maggie McSwain, and Mildred Arledge. A memorial service will be conducted at 3:00 PM Sunday, November 25, 2018, at Fairforest Church of God, 2662 Fairforest-Clevedale Rd., Fairforest, SC 29336, by The Rev. John Petty III.
