Alton "Al" Floyd Niles Jr., 88, of Boiling Springs, SC passed away peacefully on February 13, 2024. Al was born on May 12, 1935, in Cromwell, Connecticut to the late Esther Lila Baird Niles and Alton Floyd Niles.
Al fancied the times and memories that he had made in Peacham, VT and on the farm in Monroe, CT. Al adored spending time with his family and friends watching sports, racing, music, and dancing. Al spent many years as a firefighter in Brookfield Connecticut with the Candlewood Company. Overall, of his accomplishments his family was by far his most treasured. Al was a remarkably loving and dedicated son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle, great-grandfather, and friend. He never missed a moment to celebrate the joys, and well-being of his family and friends.
Al will be incredibly missed by all lives that he has touched, and he will continue to be honored and could never be forgotten. Please rest in a painless peace as you are comforted and reunited by all of the loved ones that have gone before you.
Al was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Rowland Niles, and his son, Jonathan Baird Niles (Gail) of Boiling Springs, SC, his sister, Clara Jean Niles Canfield of Southbury, CT, and his brother, James Nelson Niles, of Southbury, CT.
Al is survived by his daughters, Patricia Devendorf of Boiling Springs, SC and Kimberly Hansen (Tim) of Danbury, CT; his sisters, Betty Ann Niles Vincent of Norwalk, CT and Deborah Mae Niles Pennisi of Gaffney, SC; grandchildren, Kenneth Laskowski (Donna), Robert Laskowski (Terrie), Peter Lounsbury, Jonathan Niles (Kristiane), Brandon Hansen (Mary), Erin Hansen (Diana) and many great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
