Alliene Barnette

Alliene Stone Barnette, 90, of Ashlan Village, Lyman, SC, died Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born November 23, 1931 in Spartanburg County, SC, she was the daughter of the late Hulon and Era Littlejohn Stone.

Alliene was retired from Southern Bell as an office manager with 38 years of service. She was a member of Telephone Pioneers of America. A member of Holston Creek Baptist Church where she was also in charge over the Senior Class Travel Club for a number of years. She was a loving Christian mother, wife, and grandmother.

Survivors include her daughters, Linda Major (Steve) of Moore, SC and Lisa Hoppes (Danny) of Spindale, NC; her son, Larry Barnette (Rhonda) of Spartanburg, SC; five grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Elmer Barnette, and sisters, Shirley Clary and Sybil Johnson.

Visitation will be 2:00 - 3:30 PM Sunday, February 20, 2022 at Floyd’s Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29307. A Funeral service will be 4:00 PM at the chapel, conducted by The Rev. Reggie Parker. Entombment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Complex, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Holston Creek Baptist Church Building Fund, 311 Holston Creek Church Road, Inman, SC 29349.

The family will be at their respective homes.
