Alicia Estelle Childress Spado-Adams, age 54, passed away November 17, 2023 at Spartanburg Regional Hospital.  She was born on February 18, 1969 in Spartanburg to Conduff Greene Childress, Jr. and Annette Allen Edwards.

She enjoyed spending time with her dad and sister, as well with her paternal and maternal grandparents during her summers as a youth.  One of her favorite childhood memories was living in Miami for 8 years.

Alicia recieved her Master's degree in Special Education from Auburn University.

She had many accomplishments in life as a teacher, a florist, a dental asistant and a caretaker.  Helping the homeless was her life calling; she was always prepared with her emergency food and water kit for those in need.

Alicia is survived by her husband, Gary L. Adams; her daughter, Alexis Victoria Mason Herron; her son, Michael Angelo Spado; mother, Annette Allen Edwards; father, Conduff Greene Childress, Jr.; sister, Maria Childress Jordan (Reed); half-brother, Donald B. Duffey, Jr. (Ulrike); half-sister, Rebecca Childress Adams (Matt); one niece, three nephews, and 3 grandchildren.  In addition she is survived by her two dogs, Serenity and Hope, she loved them very much.

Burial will be held at a later date at Hopewell Cemetery in Lee County, Alabama.  

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Carolina Poodle Rescue, 6706 Union Hwy., Pacolet, SC 29372; Hopewell Cemetery Association, P.O. Box 4157, Opelika, AL 36804 or any homeless shelter.
