Twyman Pryor

Twyman Ellis Pryor, 81, of Moore, SC, entered into Heavenly rest on Wednesday, December 12, 2018, at Spartanburg Medical Center. Born August 29, 1937, in Ware Shoals, SC, he was the son of the late Thomas Harrison Pryor and Sara Lou Ridgeway Pryor. A U. S. Army National Guard veteran, Twyman retired from Reeves Brothers after 43 years of service and was employed part-time with Jay Bulman Carpet Company. He was a member of Anderson Mill Road Baptist Church, served as a Deacon at Arcadia First Baptist Church for many years, and served as an usher at First Baptist Spartanburg. Twyman was previously a member of Westview Ruritan Club, chairman of the 1955 Fairforest High School Class Reunion Committee, and spent Wednesday nights feeding children as part of Midweek at the Mill. Twyman was a family man who dedicated his life to the care of his family. He was known for his quick wit, infectious smile, and kind and compassionate spirit. Twyman is lovingly remembered by his wife of 59 years, Gayle West Pryor; daughter, Caroline Fleetwood (Jimmie) of Spartanburg, SC; grandchildren, Stephanie Wood (Case) of Chapel Hill, NC and Cole Garrison of Spartanburg, SC; great-grandsons, Crew and Beau Wood of Chapel Hill, NC; sister, Sadie Black of Jonesville, SC; and brother, Elton Pryor (Jonelle) of Spartanburg, SC. Visitation will be 10:00-11:45 AM Saturday, December 15, 2018, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307, with services following at 12:00 noon, conducted by The Rev. Asheton Amerson. A private burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307.
