Sarah Amick

November 3, 1926 — February 10, 2021

Sarah Frances LeCroy Amick, 94, passed away on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at The Inverness Assisted Living facility in Spartanburg. The daughter of Charles Robert and Carey Butler LeCroy, she was the wife of the late Cecil M. Amick Sr. Originally from Bessemer City, AL, she was of the Lutheran faith. Mrs. Amick moved with her family to the Panama Canal Zone to participate in the WWII effort and graduated from Balboa High School in the Panama Canal Zone. She proudly served her country during World War II as a civilian employee of the United States Army Signal Corps. After the war Mrs. Amick resided in Spartanburg where she met and married her husband. She retired as office manager of Brown, Rogers & Dixon Company in Spartanburg in 1970. She is survived by her sons, Cecil M. (Mack) Amick Jr. (Patty) and Robert Frank Amick (Debbie), both of Spartanburg; 7 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren, and brothers, George LeCroy of Hendersonville, NC and Henry LeCroy of Gastonia, NC. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by son, George Clifton Amick and brother, Charles LeCroy. Due to Covid, a private interment will be held in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Spartanburg, SC at a later date. Memorials in memory of Mrs. Amick may be made to the Charity of one's choice. The family would like to express special thanks to the dedicated staffs of The Inverness Assisted Living facility and Compassus Hospice, as well as Mrs. Amick's friend and companion while at The Inverness, Mr. Brad Strickland.
