Ruth Lands

Ruth Harrison Lands, 94, of Spartanburg, SC, died Tuesday, June 12, 2018, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born January 8, 1924, in Bluffton, GA, she was the daughter of the late William Elijah Harrison and Mary Belzora Forrest and wife of 64 years to the late Walter Cecil Lands. A graduate of Spartanburg Methodist College, Mrs. Lands was a member of Bethany Primitive Baptist Church in Suwanee, GA and retired from Reeves Brothers in Spartanburg, SC. Surviving are her caregivers, sister-in-law, Charlyne Bray Harrison of Atlanta, GA and nephew, Stephen W. Colyer of Jamestown, NC. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Wilbur Snelgrove of Spartanburg, SC and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by brothers, William Howard Harrison of Statesboro, GA, Walter Luke Harrison of Brevard, NC, John Robert Harrison Sr. of Atlanta, GA; sisters, Mattie Leone Harrison of Black Mountain, NC and Ethel Mae Harrison Colyer of Spartanburg, SC. Visitation will be 12:30-1:30 PM Saturday, June 23, 2018, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307 with funeral services following at 2:00 PM, conducted by Elder Silas Ford. Eulogists will be her nephews, Stephen W. Colyer and John Robert Harrison Jr. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307.
