Roy David McKittrick, 67, of Spartanburg, SC, died Wednesday, November 1, 2017, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born February 14, 1950, in Mode, IL, he was the son of the late James Aubrey and Mabel Emma Schrock McKittrick. A U. S. Army veteran, Mr. McKittrick received his MBA Degree and taught at Dorman High School, retiring from teaching with District 6. He was also the owner of McKittrick Woodworks, a member of First Baptist North Spartanburg, and served on many mission trips worldwide. Surviving are his wife of 45 years, Hilda Mae Reynolds McKittrick; daughters, Christina Hodgemire (Brad) of New Smyrna Beach, FL and Bethany Griffin (Winston) of New Bern, NC; grandchildren, Aidan Apel, Nate Apel, Abigail Carey, Gage Griffin, and Gatlin Griffin; step-grandchildren, Kaytie Hodgemire, Bryce Hodgemire, and Braydon Hodgemire; sister, Linda Spencer of Denver, CO; and brother, James McKittrick of Marshall, IL. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, Harley McKittrick and Sid McKittrick. A memorial service honoring his life will be conducted at 1:00 PM Saturday, November 11, 2017, at First Baptist North Spartanburg, by the Rev. Dr. Michael S. Hamlet. Visitation will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist North Spartanburg-Music Department, 8740 Asheville Hwy, Spartanburg, SC 29316.
