Ralph Denver Stombaugh, 88, of Woodruff, SC and formerly of Michigan City and LaPorte, IN, died Sunday, December 23, 2018, at Summit Hills. Born February 28, 1930, in Lansing, IL, he was the son of the late George Delbert and Ida Mae Worthington Stombaugh. He was predeceased by his wife of 67 years, Marilyn Joy Glassman Stombaugh. A U. S. Army veteran of the Korean War, Mr. Stombaugh loved golfing. He was the retired owner of Qualified Maintenance & Janitorial Service, Michigan City, IN and former employee of Dixie Dairy in Chesterton, IN. Surviving are his children, Rodney Lynn Stombaugh (Susan) of Mendota Heights, MN, Debra Sue Steinberg (Wayne) of Spartanburg, SC, and Lorie Louise Bettice (Michael) of Batesville, IN; grandchildren, Adam Steinberg, Katie Stombaugh, Holly Enneking, Nathan Stombaugh, Kristen Hamby, Taylor Steinberg, and Hunter Steinberg; great-grandchildren, James, Orli, Danielle, and Adalyn; sister, Shirley Costello of La Porte, IN; and brother, Richard Stombaugh of Valparaiso, IN. Visitation will be 12:30-1:00 PM, Saturday, December 29, 2018 at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307, with a service honoring his memory following at 1:00 PM.
