Polly Parker Teaster, 88, of Pacolet, SC, died Tuesday, May 5, 2020, at Spartanburg Medical Center. Born April 13, 1932, in Cherokee County, SC, she was the daughter of the late James Crawford Parker and Juanita Hunter Parker. She was the wife of 60 years to the late Loyd "Honey Hush" Teaster. A 1950 graduate of Pacolet High School, Mrs. Teaster was a member of Brown's Chapel Baptist Church and retired from Milliken & Company with over 33 years of service. She was also a proud 30 year cancer survivor. Polly was a great cook and a wonderful mother and granny who treasured her grandchildren. She loved her animals, to read and color, as well as maintain her beautiful yard and flowers. Survivors include her daughter, Cheryl Teaster Cooke (Dennis) of Pacolet, SC; granddaughters, Mandy Carter (Patrick) of Pacolet, SC and Jennifer Carter (John) of Spartanburg, SC; great-grandchildren, Kennedy, Cameron, Peyton and Hudson Carter; brother, Dennis Parker of Gaffney, SC; three step-granddaughters, Angie, Renee and Michelle; and five step-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband she was predeceased by her sister, Hazel Parker Alexander. A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Friday, May 8, 2020, in Pacolet Memorial Gardens, 141 Memorial Dr., Pacolet, SC 29372, by Pastor Michael Rochester. Visitation will follow at the graveside.
