Ola Belle Cooke Thrift, 86, of Cowpens, SC, died Tuesday, October 24, 2017, at White Oak North Grove, Spartanburg, SC. Born June 11, 1931, in Cowpens, SC, she was the daughter of the late James Walker Cooke and Valerie Parker Cooke and wife of 63 years to the late Walter Lee "Bud" Thrift. The best cook who loved and was devoted to her Lord, family, and friends, Mrs. Thrift was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church. Survivors include her daughter, Darlene Gold (Tom); granddaughter, Leanne Gold Gottschalk (Dane); great-granddaughter, Dalea Gottschalk; sisters, Janie McKinney (Kenneth), Dianne Worley, and Shirley Quinn (Gary); brother, James Leland Cooke (Phyllis), all of Cowpens, SC; and a large number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by sisters, Nellie Allen and Yvonne Tucker; and brother, Jimmy Cooke. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Wednesday, October 25, 2017, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. A Celebration of Life graveside service will be conducted at 4:00 PM Thursday, October 26, 2017, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307, by the Rev.
