Melissa Rhymer

Melissa Fairlee Gilmer Rhymer, 40, of Greer, SC and formerly of Rockmart, GA, died Thursday, April 5, 2019. Born May 21, 1978, in Douglasville, GA, she was the daughter of the late Clarence Leeverne Gilmer and Janice Fairlee Dukes Gilmer. A graduate of Rockmart High School, Melissa was previously employed with the GA Department of Juvenile Justice, Shepherd's Rest Ministries-Battered Women & Children Safe House, and Paulding County Victim Assistance. Survivors include her children, Michael A. Higginbotham of Macon, GA, Ashley Rhymer and Joe Albert Rhymer, both of South Carolina; and brothers, Joseph Leeverne Gilmer of Rome, GA, and Clarence Westley Gilmer of Rockmart, GA. A memorial service will be conducted at a later date.
