Martha Schiltz

Martha Ree Wright Schiltz, 97, of Spartanburg, SC, passed away on Wednesday, September 6, 2017. Born April 15, 1920, in Landrum, SC, she was the daughter of the late Humphrey and Sarah Kelly Wright and wife of the late Clarence Eugene Schiltz Sr. Mrs. Schiltz graduated from the Spartanburg General Hospital School of Nursing in 1941 and retired from Spartanburg Regional Medical Center in 1980, after many years of nursing. She was a member of St. James United Methodist Church. Survivors include her son, Clarence E. Schiltz Jr., and his wife Teresa of Moore, SC; grandchildren, Clarence E. Schiltz, III and his wife Amanda and son, Clarence E. Schiltz, IV, and Brittany Schiltz Eggleston and her husband, Evan. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by two brothers, Malcolm and Humphrey Wright and four sisters, Lois Underwood, Edith McAlister, Luther McElveen and Willyene Shields. The family will receive friends 1:30-2:30 PM Friday, September 8, 2017, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307, with services following at 3:00 PM in the Chapel conducted by the Rev. J. Wayne Smith Jr. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307, In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mobile Meals Service, PO Box 461, Spartanburg, SC 29304.
