Martha Barnette

Martha Gregg Barnette, 83, of Inman, SC passed away peacefully Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at Spartanburg Medical Center. Born November 30, 1937 in Greenville, SC, she was the daughter of the late Roy Quinton and Evie May Pressley Gregg and was the widow of Furman O. Barnette. Martha received her Bachelor of Science from Limestone College in 1987, and worked as a computer programmer at Hoechst Celanese as well as Michelin Corporation. She was a member of Drayton Baptist Church, and a former member of Sweet Adeline's Quartet. Survivors include her sons, Gene Edwards (Jennie) of Inman, SC, Blane Edwards of Inman, SC; her daughter, Resa Edwards (Joann) of Taylors, SC; five grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren; her siblings, Paul Gregg (Faye) of Cayce, SC, Troy Gregg (Linda) of Chesnee, SC, Ralph Gregg (Karen) of Taylors, SC, and Orena Buchanan of Roebuck, SC. She was predeceased by a sister, Hazel Neighbors. Graveside service will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, December 29, 2020 in Heritage Memorial Gardens, 3901 South Church Street Ext., Roebuck, SC 29376, conducted by The Rev. David Frost. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Drayton Baptist Church, P.O. Box 357, Spartanburg, SC 29307. The family will be at their respective homes.
