Marjorie Lee Carter Womick, 91, of Spartanburg, SC, died Thursday, July 5, 2018, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born July 5, 1927, in Blackwater, VA, she was the daughter of the late William Landon Carter and Mattie Bower Childress Carter and widow of Romeo Junior Womick. Mrs. Womick attended Resurrection Baptist Church. Surviving are her children, Buddy Womick (Anita) of Inman, SC, Evelyn Wampler of Spartanburg, SC, and Miriam Upton (Jimmy) of Marion, NC; grandchildren, Jon Upton, Laura Grindstaff, Rebecca Upton, Benjamin Womick, Sloan Womick, Joey Wampler, Christopher Wampler, Jamie Wampler, and Jessica Quinn; 20 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her brother, Norris Carter; and son-in-law, Joe Wampler. Visitation will be 1:00-1:45 PM Saturday, July 7, 2018 at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307, with funeral services following at 2:00 PM, conducted by The Rev. Joey Wampler and The Rev. Jimmy Upton. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307.
