Marjorie Toney

Marjorie Ann Gosnell Toney, 83, of Spartanburg, SC, died Monday, August 20, 2018, at RoseCrest Community Healthcare-Inman. Born March 16, 1935, in Spartanburg, she was the daughter of the late Melvin Joseph Gosnell and Emma Mae Cathcart Gosnell. She was married for 37 years to the late Verlin Edward Toney. Mrs. Toney was a member of Liberty United Methodist Church and the Birthday Girls Club. She retired from Flowers Bakery and was a volunteer for Mobile Meals. Surviving are her daughter, Cheryl T. Lanier (Jeffrey) of Spartanburg, SC; and brother, Harold R. Gosnell (Betty) of Spartanburg, SC. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a brother, Carroll D. Gosnell; and sisters, Ethel Gosnell and Lois Burnett. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Tuesday, August 21, 2018, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Wednesday, August 22, 2018, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, by The Rev. Andrew Wolfe. Burial will be private.
