Loree George

Loree Baker George, 91, of Spartanburg, SC, died Monday, February 12, 2018, at RoseCrest Retirement Community. Born July 29, 1926, in Marion, NC, she was the daughter of the late Rhembo H. Baker and Mary Smith Baker and wife of the late John Nathaniel George Jr. Mrs. George was a member of Second Presbyterian Church, Circle #1 and a volunteer for the Hilltop voting booth. Survivors include her daughter, Karen G. Vassey (Mike) of Spartanburg, SC; son, Dr. Joey F. George (Karen) of Ames, IA; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, February 14, 2018, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307, conducted by the Rev. Jason Moore. Visitation will follow the service at the graveside. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Second Presbyterian Church, 438 N. Church St., Spartanburg, SC 29303. The family is at the home.
