Larry Atchley

November 23, 1936 — January 6, 2019

Larry Morris Atchley, 82, of Pauline, SC, died Sunday, January 6, 2019, at White Oak Estates-Spartanburg. Born November 23, 1936, in Rutherfordton, NC, he was the son of the late Guy Morris Atchley and Mary Juanita Logan Atchley. Mr. Atchley retired from Sherman Construction Company in Greenville, SC after 37 years of service. An incredible cook, with a wonderful garden, he loved feeding his family and community. He was a member and former Deacon at Stone Station Baptist Church. Survivors include wife, Patricia Gentry Atchley of the home; children, Tsiania Atchley Kearney (Dean) of Townville, SC and Larry Michael Atchley of Spartanburg, SC; daughter-in-law, Chris Atchley of Pauline, SC; brother, Phillip Atchley (Joan) and Spencer Atchley (Sheila), all of Pauline, SC; step-children, Debbie Gideon (Jim) of Woodruff, SC, Rhonda Glenn (Craig) and Danny Gideon (Bebe), all of Pauline, SC; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, Yvonne Lanford Atchley; son, James Donald Atchley; and grandson, Gary Morris Atchley. Visitation will be 1:45-2:45 PM Wednesday, January 9, 2019, at Stone Station Baptist Church with a memorial service following at 3:00 PM, conducted by The Rev. Jackie Bridwell and The Rev. Rob Gouge. No flowers please, in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Stone Station Baptist Church Building Fund, 121 Walnut Grove Road, Roebuck, SC 29376.
