Karen Batchler

November 23, 1975 — November 2, 2017

Karen Lynn Batchler, beloved daughter of Leon and Pat Batchler, born November 23, 1975 Spartanburg, SC - passed away November 2, 2017 Charleston, SC. Karen passed away quietly and without pain on Thursday, November 2, 2017, at MUSC in Charleston, SC. She was just so weak after all the surgeries and the congestion in her lungs. As many of you know, Karen has faced many challenges during her life. She never complained and always had a loving, caring, and respectful attitude. She loved going to school and church, this allowed her to be around people her age. She loved Clemson football. Her attitude and kindness changed my life. Her smile brightened my life. I am glad I had time in the last three weeks to tell her how much I loved her and how she changed my life to be a better person. As much as I miss her, I know she is no longer sick and her body has changed into a perfect heavenly body. She can now stand, walk, run, and do anything she desires. No more wheelchair, no more pain, no more sickness. She is with her grandparents and loved ones who have gone before us. I believe as written in the Bible, to be absent from the body is to be present with the LORD. I want to thank everyone who prayed for Karen and showed any kindness. It meant more to Karen and us than you will ever know. Most of all I thank GOD for giving us Karen for 41 years. Karen was a blessing. Leon GOD entrusted us with a beautiful special daughter to LOVE and care for as long as she was on earth. Karen had the most beautiful smile that would light up your day. Karen graduated from Boiling Springs High School and attended Spartanburg Technical School. She was a member of First Baptist North Spartanburg and the Singles Sunday School Class. Pat In addition to her parents, Karen is survived by a sister, Sandy Wall (Thomas); niece, Reagan; and nephew, Trey, all of North Augusta, SC. She was predeceased by her grandparents, Jack and Mary Clary of Inman, SC and Roland and Dollie Batchler of Blacksburg, SC.
