Jesse Gates

Jesse Frank Gates, 44, of Spartanburg, SC died suddenly on Tuesday, July 17, 2018. Born August 23, 1973 in Salem, Indiana, he was the son of Gloria Jacobs Gates and the late Carl Gates Sr. Jesse loved his family, country music, and fishing. He was employed by Lucky's Scrapyard and was of the Baptist faith. His favorite eating establishments were Denny's and the Waffle House. Survivors include his children, Elisha Poteat and Mercedez Gates, both of Spartanburg, SC, Hailey Gates and Jacob Gates, both of Union, SC; grandson, Andreian Whiteside of Columbia, SC; brothers, Carl Gates, Jr. of Spartanburg, SC and James Gates of Tennessee; and sister, Angie Gates of Spartanburg, SC. A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday, August 4, 2018, at Floyd's Boiling Springs Chapel, 4161 Hwy 9 N, Boiling Springs, SC 29316, by The Rev. Andy Case.
