James Robert Sottile, 72, of Roebuck, SC died October 30, 2020 at his home. Born March 10, 1948 in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late Joseph and Maryanne Newby Sottile. He was the youngest of eight children. James was a Vietnam era veteran. He was in the 11th Signal Brigade stationed in Germany in 1968 and 1969. James worked for many years at New York Life Insurance Company and Hitachi Data Systems. Survivors include his sons, Robert Sottile of Las Vegas, NV and Daniel Sottile (Lucy) of Barto, PA; his granddaughter, Opal Sottile of Barto, PA; his brother, Anthony Sottile of Plano, TX; and his sisters, Virginia Santoro and Mary Joan Chini of Staten Island, NY; and his longtime companion, Arlene Knaub. Along with his parents, he was also predeceased by his brothers, Joseph Sottile, Edward Sottile, and Michael Sottile; and his sister, Anne Sottile Koschak. A private service will be held at a later date.
