Jack M. Pyles, 68, of Greer, SC, died Tuesday, September 19, 2017, at St. Francis Downtown, after a brief battle with leukemia. A native of Dallas, TX, Jack was a U. S. Coast Guard veteran and worked as an air traffic controller with the FAA. He spent most of his career as a disc jockey and announcer on various Upstate SC radio and news stations. He was retired from Spartanburg County 911. He always enjoyed a spirited debate (political or otherwise) and doting on his grandchildren. He is survived by his daughter Morgan, son-in-law, Mike, and grandchildren Jack and Fallon of Nashville, TN; mother-in-law, Ozelle Lancaster of Spartanburg; a brother-in-law and sister-in law, nieces, and nephews of Spartanburg; and close friends and caregivers, Susan Simpson of Boiling Springs and Jacqui Hunt of Taylors. He was preceded in death by his wife Susan, parents, and brothers. Visitation will be 4:00-6:00 PM Friday, September 22, 2017, at Floyd's North Church Street Chapel, 235 N.
