Franklin "Pepaw" Crocker, 83, of Spartanburg, SC, died Wednesday, September 13, 2017, at Spartanburg Medical Center. Born April 23, 1934, in Clifton, SC, he was the son of the late Bertha Million Crocker. A U. S. Air Force veteran for 12 years, Mr. Crocker loved music, collected ball caps, never met a stranger, and enjoyed meeting friends at Hardees for breakfast. Frank fought a courageous battle with lung cancer and was a survivor for nine years. He worked for Jonathon Logan Division of Butte Knit and retired from Wise Foods. He was a member of Beaumont Baptist Church and was also a volunteer for Mobile Meals Service. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Janet Jackson Crocker; daughter, Wanda Gordon (John) of Boiling Springs, SC; sons, Steven Crocker (Mary) of Wellford, SC and Jeffrey Crocker of Boiling Springs, SC; grandchildren, Christian Crocker, Madison Crocker, John Michael Gordon, and David Gordon; special nieces, Brenda Montjoy and Nancy Cooke; special nephew, Gary Cooke; and numerous other nieces and nephews; and the family dog, Luke. He was predeceased by brothers, Charlie Crocker, Martin Crocker, and Arthur Crocker; and sister, Virginia Cooke. Visitation will be 6:00-9:00 PM Sunday, September 17, 2017, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. A memorial service, with military rites, will be conducted at 1:00 PM Monday, September 18, 2017, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, by the Rev. Rupert Guest and Mr. Donald Gibson. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mobile Meals Service, PO Box 461, Spartanburg, SC 29304. The family is at the home of Janet Crocker.
