Edward A. England, 83, of Spartanburg, SC, passed away holding Rose's hand, Thursday, December 27, 2018 at his home. Born December 7, 1935 in Central Falls, RI, he was the son of the late John J. England and Elizabeth Trenton England. A U. S. Air Force veteran, having served in the Korean War, Mr. England was retired from Michelin Tire Corporation and also worked with Brown Engineering at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, AL and Atomic Energy in Oak Ridge, TN. He loved his family, enjoyed playing cards, was a lifelong member of VFW Post 9539, and a member of Holy Communion Lutheran Church. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Rose Smith England; daughters, Elizabeth "Liz" Duncan of Spartanburg, SC, and Stacie Stewart (Randy) of Pauline, SC; grandchildren, Randall Stewart, and Caralee Lowry (Philip); also, Madison Goretoy (Anton), Baylan Duncan, Laural Duncan, their father, Steve Duncan; and brother, Robert England of Blackstone, RI. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, John England. A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Sunday, December 30, 2018, at Holy Communion Lutheran Church, by The Rev. Alan Kinsey. A reception will follow the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Holy Communion Lutheran Church, 1430 John B. White Sr. Blvd., Spartanburg, SC 29306; or VFW Post 9539, 325 Carolina Dr. Ext., Roebuck, SC 29376.
