Dewey Lamar Loftis, 85, of Inman, SC, died Friday, September 29, 2017. Born January 20, 1932, in Spartanburg, he was the son of the late Boyce Lee Loftis and Sally Crocker Loftis. A U. S. Army veteran of the Korean War and member of American Legion Post #172, Mr. Loftis enjoyed having supper at the Cracker Barrel Restaurant. He was a member of Lake Bowen Baptist Church and retired from Michelin. Survivors include his wife, Ruth Dover Loftis; son, Michael "Mike" Loftis (Deborah) of Anderson, SC; daughter, Cathy Loftis Harmon (Wallace) of Campobello, SC; grandchildren, Derek Loftis (Lindsey), Brandon Loftis (Megan), Jason Harmon, and Tiffany Cooke (Andrew); six great-grandchildren; brothers, John Loftis and Carrol Loftis; and sister, Marie West. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, Earl Loftis, Jake Loftis, and Donald Loftis. Visitation will be 1:00-1:45 PM Monday, October 2, 2017, at Floyd's Boiling Springs Chapel, 4161 Hwy 9 N, Boiling Springs, SC 29316. A graveside service, with military rites, will follow at 2:00 PM, in Good Shepherd Memorial Park, 4164 Boiling Springs Rd., Boiling Springs, SC 29316, conducted by the Rev. Ron Jackson and the Rev. Brad Atkins. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Spartanburg Regional Home Care & Hospice, PO Box 430, Drayton, SC 29333.
