Barry Gilmer

Barry Steen Gilmer, 76, of Spartanburg, SC, died Sunday, July 22, 2018, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born July 3, 1942, in Glendale, SC, he was the son of the late Thomas Franklin Gilmer and Marjorie Sprouse Gilmer. Barry loved bird and rabbit hunting as well as fishing. He was a member of Cannons Campground United Methodist Church, a 1986 graduate of Limestone College, and retired from Hoke Industries. Survivors include his wife, Judy Mason Gilmer; children, Debra Gilmer Boekenoogen (Daniel) of Gaithersburg, MD, Tim S. Gilmer (Angela) and Kyle S. Gilmer (Jodi), all of Spartanburg, SC; six grandchildren, Nathan Gilmer, Jeff Gilmer, Catherine Taylor, Mason Gilmer, Maggie Gilmer, and Nickolas Boekenoogen; one great-grandchild, Peyton Taylor; and brothers, Franky Gilmer (Emily) and Terry Gilmer (Deborah), all of Spartanburg, SC. Visitation will be 1:30-2:30 PM Thursday, July 26, 2018, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307 with a graveside service following at 3:00 PM in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307, conducted by The Rev. Brian Gilmer.
