Virginia Fulbright

Virginia Atkins Fulbright, 82, of Boiling Springs, SC, died Wednesday, May 30, 2018, at her home. Born April 23, 1936, in Gowensville, SC, she was the daughter of the late J. Harvey Atkins and Ruby Cairnes Atkins and widow of Mack Knight Fulbright. Mrs. Fulbright enjoyed working jigsaw puzzles. She was co-owner of Mack Fulbright Distributing Company and a member of First Baptist North Spartanburg. Survivors include her children, Mitchell Fulbright (Melanie Anderson) of Boiling Springs, SC, Janet Thompson (Mike) of Inman, SC, and son-in-law, Preston McAbee of Inman, SC; grandchildren, Kristen Fulbright (Antwain), Justin Fulbright, Michael Thompson II (Renee), Christopher Thompson (Ashley), and Autumn McAbee Andrews (Robert); great-grandchildren, Nathan Fulbright, Austin Snow, Ethan Parris, Evan Parris, Harper Fulbright, Keller Thompson, Rylie Thompson, Avery Thompson, Quinn Andrews, and Sage Andrews; and brother, Bill Stagges. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a daughter, Donna McAbee; grandson, Jason Fulbright; and sister, Helen Gosnell. The family expresses heartfelt thanks to her special caregivers, Charlene Lowrance, Katilia Lowrance, and Debbie Morrow. Visitation will be 1:00-2:45 PM Sunday, June 3, 2018, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307, with funeral services following at 3:00 PM, conducted by The Rev. Dr. Michael Hamlet. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307.
