Trey Helms

Trey Andrew Helms, 29, of Spartanburg, SC, died in Larimer County, Colorado. Born April 10, 1986, in Columbia, SC, and reared in Rock Hill then Spartanburg, he was the son of Terron Andrew Helms and Ruthie Cook Helms of Spartanburg. Trey was an honors graduate of Dorman High School and a 2008 graduate of Spartanburg Community College where he received a Horticulture Degree and was president of the Horticulture Club. He loved camping, hiking, traveling, reading, and his college internship at Hatcher Garden & Woodland Preserve. He was a former member of Reidville Road United Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, survivors include a sister, Tayler Elaine Helms of Spartanburg, SC; paternal grandparents, Robert and Donna Helms of Easley, SC; maternal grandmother, Helen Addis Bryant of Greenville, SC; and a number of loving uncles, aunts, and cousins. He was predeceased by two infant brothers, Brett Helms and Drew Helms. Visitation will be 12:00-1:30 PM Monday, September 7, 2015, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. A memorial service will follow at 2:00 PM, at the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Bill Thompson.
