Timothy Woody

Timothy Eric Woody, 53, of Boiling Springs, SC passed away Friday, July 7, 2017 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born November 9, 1963 in Spartanburg, he was the son of Richard Nelson and Virginia Alverson Woody. Deputy Woody was retired from the Spartanburg County Sheriff's Department after 30 years of service. He was a 1982 Boiling Springs High School graduate and a graduate of the S.C. Criminal Justice Academy. He was a member of the Irving-Southworth Masonic Lodge #350. His favorite activities included camping, riding motorcycles, and was a knife maker. He was of the Baptist faith. Along with his parents, survivors include sons, Nicholas Eric Woody of Moore, Andrew Tillman Woody of Landrum, twin brother, Derrick Woody of Boiling Springs, brother, Robby Woody (Tracie) of Pauline, and numerous nieces and nephews that he loved very much. A Visitation will be 6:00-9:00 PM Monday, July 10, 2017, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Al Phillips. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307, with Masonic Rites administered by the Irvin-Southworth Lodge #350 and honors by the Spartanburg County Sheriff's Dept. Honors Team. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office Chaplain's Benevolence Fund, c/o Spartanburg County Foundation, 424 East Kennedy Street, Spartanburg, SC 29302. The family will be at the home of his parents, Richard and Virginia Woody, Northbrook Street, Boiling Springs, SC 29316.
