Terry Dempsey

Terry Martin Dempsey, 70, of Spartanburg, SC, died Friday, August 18, 2017, at Rolling Green Village, Greenville, SC. Born April 12, 1947, in Union, SC, she was the daughter of the late William Jones and Eula Lee Woodle Martin and widow of William Noel Dempsey. Mrs. Dempsey enjoyed cross stitch, reading, music, and her dogs. A graduate of Converse College, she retired from Converse having served in various positions including: alumni, development, education, and administration. She was also a member of Morningside Baptist Church. Survivors include her daughters, Angie Dempsey Wells (Eric) and Cathy Dempsey Taylor (Keith), all of Spartanburg, SC; grandsons, Eric Wells, Will Wells, and Joshua Wells, all of Spartanburg, SC; step-grandsons, Jason Taylor of Greenville, SC and Brian Taylor of Indianapolis, IN; and sister, Doris Martin Nanney of Spartanburg, SC. The family will receive friends 2:00-2:45 PM Sunday, August 20, 2017, in the Morningside Baptist Church Welcome Center. A service honoring her memory will follow at 3:00 PM, at the church, conducted by the Rev. Steven R. Owensby and the Rev. Dr. Keith Taylor. Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307 at 11:00 AM Saturday, August 26, 2017, with the Rev. Dr. Keith Taylor officiating.
