Roy Lee Satterfield, 66, of Spartanburg, SC, died Sunday, May 13, 2018, at Spartanburg Medical Center. Born May 21, 1951, in Spartanburg, he was the son of the late Luther Franklin Satterfield and Minnie Louise McAbee Satterfield. Mr. Satterfield enjoyed dirt track racing and working on cars. He also played guitar and loved traveling to Gatlinburg with his wife Doris. He was a member of Bethel Assembly, attended Restoration Church, and was retired from Phillips Fibers. Surviving are his wife, Doris Ann Hutchins Satterfield; sons, Rodney Satterfield (Chris) of Spartanburg, SC, Steve Satterfield of Laurens, SC, and Joshua Rash (Allison) of Spartanburg, SC; grandchildren, Jeff Fowler, Brandon Satterfield, Taylor Satterfield, Dalton Satterfield, Daniel Satterfield, Colby Rash, Aubrey Rash, and Aeralynn Rash; great-grandchildren, Emma Gregory and Axle Satterfield; sisters, Nellie Lynch and Sarah Johnson, both of Spartanburg, SC; brother, Harold Satterfield of Blacksburg, SC; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by three brothers and two sisters. Visitation will be 7:00-9:00 PM Tuesday, May 15, 2018, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Wednesday, May 16, 2017, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, by The Rev. Tim Osment. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307. The family is at the home.
